Two years ago, an employee at ANB Bank was reading an article written about Mary’s Books in the Denver Post. After reading about how we were collecting books for The Children’s Hospital, he suggested that his own children go to their book shelves and donate some of their books to our cause. But, it didn’t stop there. At a board meeting the following Monday morning, this same person suggested to his bank employees that they join our efforts to make sure our local Children’s Hospital never needs for books again. That year they donated hundreds of books in Mary’s honor. This year, ANB Bank asked if they could donate more books and we of course said yes! We picked up 113 more books from them a few days ago. It is wonderful to see our local businesses jump on board with us and support the children and families in our area. So, if you’re looking for a new bank I an recommend ANB without hesitation because I know they care about our community…and they give out dog treats!

CO Asthma & Allergy Center
We have had an amazing 2012 Mary’s Book Drive. Not only did our friends, family, neighbors, local churches and strangers donate, but local business owners donated as well. As a business owner you can decide what causes you wish to support, if any at all. Colorado Asthma & Allergy Center didn’t just donate books, they collected books at all of their offices around Denver. And, the sweet part about receiving 315 books from them is that it wasn’t just employees donating, it was their patients donating as well. I want to say a special thank you to everyone who not only works at CO Asthma & Allergy Center but thank you to the people who receive care by them as well.
Cochlear Americas partners with Mary’s Books!
A few years ago I was employed by Cochlear Americas. I stopped working there in 2007 when I was put on bedrest with triplets. After leaving, there were many people at Cochlear who kept in touch during my trying pregnancy and loss inutero. I remained connected after the birth of Mary & Emma but that all stopped after the loss of Mary…not because of them but because of me! When we began Mary’s Books in 2010, I was humbled by so many of the people I worked with who sent us books and supported us giving back to The Children’s Hospital. And, this year at Cochlear is no different. We have collected an impressive 323 books from Cochlear Americas! I am so thankful to the folks at this company that after all of these years they continue to reach out graciously and support our family. Thank you to all of you at Cochlear!
Bunco with a purpose…
Want to participate in our Mary’s Books book drive but don’t know how? Here’s a great idea – organize a Bunco party with a purpose. That is exactly what my friend Amy is doing. She invited a group of women to come to her house, with their $5 for Bunco, and asked that they also bring a gently used or new book for Mary’s Books. This is a great way to have a fun evening while supporting a great cause. Thank You Amy!
Local Girl Scouts Participating in Mary’s Books!
The Plum Creek Service Unit of Girl Scouts, here in Castle Rock, is supporting Mary’s Books! Each Girl Scout family received information regarding Mary’s Books and will be collecting gently used and new books for The Children’s Hospital of Denver PICU & Ronald McDonald House. It humbles us to see kids helping out other kids and families in need. A special thank you goes out to Adrienne Ferradino, one of the troop leaders, who organized the Girl Scouts involvement in our book drive.
